Abstract

Information science education in China and the United States has different growth environments and development paths. This paper collects and collates the training programs of information science postgraduates through network survey, and reveals that the individuality of information science education in the United States lies in the cultivation of "Professional" as the core, with career orientation, problem orientation and innovation oriented. The individuality of information science education in China lies in its discipline-oriented, research-oriented and comprehensive orientation, with the core of "Specialty" training. The commonness of information science education between China and the United States is reflected in the concept of personnel training, the trend of digitalization and interdisciplinary characteristics.
