Constructing data spaces offers valuable insights into optimizing the value of data factor. A comprehensive analysis of its practical advancement and operation mode can help overcome the actual barriers to data circulation and enhance the conceptual development of data utilization. Firstly, this paper takes the case studies method within the structuralism analysis framework as the main research method, and comprehensively applies literature review and comparative analysis. Based on cases of Data Spaces Radar, this paper delineates the characteristics of data spaces construction across various dimensions, including practical progress, operation mode, and core factors. Secondly, propelled by the dual wheels of institution and technology, the construction of data spaces follows architectural principles that emphasize the harmony of institutional norms, the integrity of technological design, and the synergy of governance mode and creates a more robust operation system that aligns with the fundamental logics of industrial, bottom-line, trust, chain, and intensive thinking. In the future, efforts should focus on exploring and addressing the development path of data resource valued in the perspective of data spaces. By concentrating on the barriers to data circulation, the pain points in utilization, and the challenges of trust, this paper aims to provide valuable references for promoting the circulation and utilization of data factors in China from the perspectives of institutional mechanisms, policy frameworks, and technological applications.
