This research answers two research questions: (1) The realistic relationship among the three majors of library science, information science, and archival science at home and abroad; (2) The development prospects of the three majors of library science, information science, and archival science in 2029. After questionnaire surveys and network surveys, the paper classifies the relationships among library science, information science, and archival science at home and abroad into five: library science as leader, information science as leader, archival science as leader, library science and information science as leaders, the balanced manner. In the development of disciplines in mainland China, the leading types of archival science are more abundant than in foreign countries. Through ethnographic future interview research, the paper summarizes the unique missions, research objects, and stereotypes of the three majors proposed by 54 young scholars; the discourse power of three majors where the young scholars come from ranks as information science first, library science second, and archival science as the third. The paper summarizes the most optimistic, pessimistic, and most likely scenarios of the three majors' basic survival status, development scale, and trend of technology integration, society serving ways, scientific research and education, and talent cultivation in 2029. Personal literacy, discipline development, basic theory and knowledge innovation, research skills and methods, and integration of theory with practice are classified from the actions that respondents will have to make to achieve the most likely prospects in 2029. This paper further combs the relationships of the three subjects of library science, information science and archival science in 2029, including six types of relations, nine first-level discipline names (if still under a first-level discipline), and two types of separation (if scattered across different first-level disciplines).

Recently, higher education has entered a new period of reform and development, where the national-level policies began to be implemented gradually, such as “Double First-Class” construction,“Double Ten-Thousand” plan, “Qing Siwei Action”, and "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" education et al., which are changing the existing structure of higher education in China in four aspects - discipline construction, talent cultivation, scientific research, and social service, respectively. These brought opportunities and challenges to the development of all disciplines including information resource management. This paper focuses on the impacts of relevant national policies and higher education revolutions on the related disciplines of information resource management group in order to give some thoughts and suggestions on the future development of the discipline.

This paper examines one of the emerging information jobs - user experience (UX) professionals and compares the differences in domestic and global UX job market. We collected job descriptions of UX related jobs from three job-hunting websites, and analyzed job duties, and job requirements on knowledge and skills, capability and degrees to characterize the new profession. The results provide some implications for educating information professionals in emerging technical fields such as UX. Information management schools should play an important role in shaping the field.

At present, the development of the library, information and archives management is entering a new bottleneck period. There are not only disagreements within the disciplines, but also fierce competition from other disciplines. It is facing problems such as relatively low disciplinary influence, unclear name and orientation, and weak sense of identity within disciplines. Therefore this paper combines the marketization trends of current higher education institutions, and believes that it is necessary for the library, information and archives management to further define the discipline orientation, explore the advantages and values of the disciplines, enhance the visibility and attractiveness of the disciplines, and strengthen the sense of identity and cohesion within the discipline through brand building. We hope that this study can provide a reference for the further development of the library, information and archives management.

A content analysis was conducted to identify the library theory of high frequency use in the past decade. We coded 15 research themes used in library theory, and classified these topics from high to low frequency use and growth through time series analysis. Five ways of the usage of theory were proposed. The content analysis of 1703 articles shows that: (1) The basic theory of library science is insufficiently explored, and new research themes such as digital humanities, big data application, academic social network and information literacy have emerged. Theoretical foundation should be constantly consolidated, and new discipline growth points should be explored. (2) The use of theory has the largest proportion of theory placement, and theory generation accounts for the smallest proportion. It is necessary to encourage theory innovation to promote the sustainable development of library science.

Library and information science(LIS) education faces the challenges to infuse information technology (IT) into its curriculum. This paper collected the curricular data from 139 LIS schools, and took Penetration Index (PI) and Coverage Index (CI) of IT courses to measure the extent of IT penetration. The penetration and coverage of IT courses in LIS education depend on not only the good will of LIS educators but also to a large extent the IT development status in the home country/region of LIS schools.

Scientifical applying research method is an effective way to enhance the academic competitiveness of library and information science, and it is helpful to understand the overall trend of international academic research by investigating the method structure of library and information science overseas. 275 papers of international first-class journals about library and information science were divided into 2013 and 2018 time windows to carry out content analysis and analyze application of the methods. Results show that calculation test (35.06%), statistical analysis (16.45%) and content analysis (11.26%) are the main empirical methods overseas in recent years, and the overall proportion of empirical research and theoretical research tends to be stable. Overseas LIS discipline has developed into a pattern with empirical research as the leading and theoretical research as the auxiliary.

The article focuses on the academic work of F.W. Lancaster, a great library and information science scholar, and his thinking on information society in his later years. Through his speech Survival is not Mandatory, the author puts forward that "human-oriented librarian view" is the core of Lancaster's thought, and introduces how he projected this concern into the border information society in his legacy Web of Evil. Lancaster's final thoughts provide important directional guidance for building the mission of LIS in the new era.

The development of information technology has promoted social change and the reform of library work. The librarianship in China has made great progress since the starting of the new century. However, there are two major challenges for the further progress of Chinese librarianship: one is the crisis of professional identity of librarianship, and the other one is the decay of the core skills of library work which is acquired from professional education of Library Science. Chinese Library Science needs to face the transformation of Chinese librarianship, and make corresponding adjustments from the three aspects to meet the developmental needs of the Chinese library enterprise, including curriculum setting, scientific research, and personnel training.

Professional cognition is an important part of undergraduate professional training, and also a prerequisite for students to complete professional learning, form professional literacy and become professional talents. By taking H University Library Science as an example, this study collects the first-hand information of students' professional cognition of library science through purposeful sampling and semi-structured interview, comprehensively uses grounded theory and type analysis method to deal with the relevant content, and finds out various factors affecting professional cognition. It is found that curriculum, specialty characteristics, library and teachers are the main factors that affect the professional cognition of the undergraduates of library science. The development process of the professional cognition of the undergraduates of library science includes three stages: prior stage, contact stage and formation stage, and the professional cognition will change in different degrees due to the differences of the stage and influencing factors.

As a new concept, new model and new method, digital humanities has been sought after by many disciplines including archival science, and related research is active. However, some scholars have questioned the application of digital humanities research in the field of archival science, and believe that this is an irrational follow-up behavior. This paper first puts forward the "follow-up theory" proposal scene, and further clarifies the logical relationship between "digital humanities" and "archival science ", and in the speculative form, the paper puts forward the emphasis and sustainable development strategies of archival science from the perspective of digital humanities.

The development of archives work to a certain scale constitutes archives cause. Under different cultural background and management system, the archives cause presents different forms. This paper reviews and summarizes the evolution form of the archives cause from the significance of restraint to the significance of scientific management, from the transactional to the cultural, from the "national model" to the "social model". The author thinks that the evolution form of the archival cause is from "inside" to "outside", from "rule of man" to "rule of law".

The integration and service of digital archive resources is a new area to explore in the archive field. In order to solve the problems emerged in practice, this paper adopted the methods including literature review, focus group for data collection, Straussian Grounded Theory for data analysis. Based on the field research from 104 institutions (municipal archives, governmental information resource management centers, and big data centers etc.), this paper identified the types of tacit knowledge in process of archival practice activities, analysed the empowering role of these tacit knowledge in the process of digital archives resources integration and service, then therefore, enabled the development of a classification of these tacit knowledge.
