In order to help scholars sort out and clarify the evolution of the hot spots of users' information behavior research in China, a detailed search and literature review of the studies relevant to users' information behavior since 1949 was conducted, systemically summarized the research hot spots in different periods and the evolution of these hot spots, proposed the future research directions of users' information behavior by the analysis methods of co-words, cluster and strategic diagram. It is found that Chinese information behavior research initially focused on the investigation of the storage, retrieval and utilization of books. With the introduction of cognitive science, the research focus has turned to users, and its research hot spots have evolved significantly over time. For example, the information behavior subjects, types, environments, scopes, research methods etc. have all changed.
