  • The Criterion Related Validity of Research Frontier Exploration: a Co-words Analysis based on the Natural Language Processing

    Present study conducted a Natural Language Processing(NLP) and selected the hot research issues identified by Sci2 as validity criterion to explore the forecast validity of research frontier identified by titles, abstracts, keywords and full text of academic papers. Findings of this research include: firstly, no matter which unit involved into the analysis Processing, the forecasting of research frontiers do existed validity risks. Secondly, full texts, as the analysis corpus, has highest validity comparing to titles, abstracts and keywords which affected by the total amount of the selected papers. Thirdly, if single indexes were taken as the standard to identify the hot research issues, the explored research frontier predicted via different unit of academic papers are various. The findings of present study provide a valuable reference to those researches which focusing on the exploration of research frontier among scientometrics related researches.

    Present study conducted a Natural Language Processing procedure to test the content validity of the hot research issues identified by titles, abstracts, keywords and full text of academic papers. The findings include: Firstly, the hot research issues identified by keywords facing a high validity risks. Secondly, the content validity of hot research issues identified by titles are highest compared to other analysis unit from a comprehensive perspective. Thirdly, the hot research issues identified by various units are unstable from perspective of solo-index.

    Present study conducted a Natural Language Processing(NLP) on the titles, abstracts and whole paper of sample literature, together with keywords, to exact the high frequency words from all of above 4 units to identify the hot research issues via Pajek and Sci2. Moreover, present study performed Criterion-related Validity through correlation analysis and paired samples t-test by setting the hot research issues identified by whole paper as criterion and compared the correlation coefficient and t-value between whole papers and titles, abstracts and keywords to identify the Concurrency Validity of co-words analysis on hot research issues. The findings of this research include that: a) Those hot research issues identified by the abstract has a higher Concurrency Validity keywords. b) Aiming to identify the hot research issues, text is better than words from the perspective of Concurrency Validity, however, Validity is affected by the length of sampled text.

    Data literacy is the development of information literacy in the era of big data. It is necessary to integrate data literacy education into LIS education. This paper analyzes the status of data literacy education of LIS education in China and America from two aspects: training awareness and training intensity by investigating the training targets, research directions and curriculum of LIS education, then aiming at the problems of data literacy education in domestic LIS education, this paper puts forward three suggestions referring to the status of America in order to provide some suggestions for LIS education in China: to raise awareness of data literacy education and clear the need and location of data literacy education in LIS education，to build a multidimensional LIS data literacy education system, and to cooperate with relevant industry and subjects.

    The paper analyzes the characteristics of data literacy curriculum through the network survey of 138 library and information professional postgraduate programs of 38 iSchools. The characteristics are concluded as follows: more programs have opened data literacy courses but the number of hours is not enough; courses about data awareness, data competency, and data ethics are various; the curriculum of data literacy accords with the common requirements of iSchool Curriculum, and more attention is paid to systematic training,  data mining and practice.

    The Public Library Law of PRC has comprehensively established a series of basic systems, which play a major role in promoting the development of public librarianship and giving full play to the functions of public libraries. The first category is the basic system for protecting the cultural rights of citizens, including universal equalization system, information disclosure system, the public participation system, people-oriented system, the bottom line guarantee system, etc. The second category is the basic system for implementing the government-led responsibility, including government guarantee system, funds guarantee system, personnel support system, library service standardization system, library facilities service network system, information technology standard system, etc. The third category is the basic system for guiding the participation of social forces, including government support system, tax preference system, honor name system, voluntary service system, etc. The fourth category is the basic system for promoting the reform and development of public libraries, including corporate governance of library, central-branch library system, library annual report, online to offline interactive services, etc.

    Under the background of holistic poverty alleviation and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation,  it is of both practical significance and theoretical value to analyze the current situation of government information service in poor areas and grasp the status quo of rural entrepreneurship information service in poor areas from a holistic perspective and to provide evidence for enhancing the construction of targeted service countermeasures fundamentals. Using the method of general survey, the author chose the county government websites and relevant government social media which were selected into the first and second batch of pilot projects of rural entrepreneurship as the research objects, and the data collection and analysis has been mainly conducted from the information provided by the government portal website, related websites and linked government social media. It was found that these websites did not work as they were expected. Countermeasures have been made to entrepreneurship and innovation information provision to update frequency and ways for spreading.

    The technical and social characteristics of big data surveillance society have been analyzed as well as the impetus from risk society and welfare state to form the big data surveillance. This paper shows how big data surveillance society allows governments to survey everyone undifferentiated and universally. The value of the right to privacy to democratic society and its substantive right and procedural right have been challenged in the big data surveillance society. In order to protect the right to privacy, the value of privacy should be reevaluated theoretically, and its functions of opacity to power and transparency to power should be implemented. The legal framework of privacy right protection should be reconstructed from both sides of legislation and judicial oversight.

     Through analyzing the shortcomings of the library operation mode in the process of national reading and urbanization, and the advantages of Mall libraries' urbanization operation under the background of national reading, this paper points out the feasibility of implementing the Mall operation mode in our country. At the same time, according to the advanced experience of the Mall Library in Singapore in terms of operating system, service object, service content, we give references and suggestions for the practice of the Mall library in China combined with the current situation of the domestic library operation mode, in order to meet the public needs in the process of urbanization and achieve public libraries' effective participation in the national reading project.

    It is of significant importance for public libraries to bridge digital divide by advancing digital inclusion. This paper expounds the research background of digital inclusion and the role of public libraries in promoting digital inclusion, and focuses on the practical characteristics of digital inclusion of American public libraries, including the support and promotion of library organizations, the development of broadband projects and the digital skill training in different areas. The implications for public libraries in China include: developing national digital inclusion strategy, leading the way to digital inclusion by library organizations, improving the network infrastructure of public libraries and offering digital skill training and service for different groups.

    “Multiculturalism”is one of the core values of the American Library Association. For implementing the core value of multiculturalism, the American Library Association develops series of appropriated organization strategies and action strategies. From the organization level, the American Library Association sets up the committee, the office, the round tables and sub-branches for involvement of the various members into the multicultural activities, decision making, and exchange. The American Library Association holds lots of scholar, grants, multicultural activities, and award for pushing and promoting the multicultural value in the society. The experience from the American Library Association in multicultural field will make reference to the multicultural service of Chinese libraries and library associations and societies.

    Public library service is an important component of public cultural service system. With the progress and change of public needs, the conflict between public library service supply and demand has been increasingly fierce, bringing new challenge to public library service. It is an innovative method to realize supply-demand equilibrium of public library service and increase public library service efficiency by introducing supply side reform into the field of public library service and starting reform from supply side to demand side. The key of supply side reform of public library service is to define value orientation and position of supplying subject, to rely on sound operation and practical action as basis, to improve resource allocation, to adjust supply structure, to increase supplying capacity of supply subject based on socio-market mechanism, to build a multi-supply mechanism among government, market and society, to improve supporting mechanism of supply side reform, and to force supply-demand balance using supply side reform, so as to realize double implementation of both supply and demand.

    After more than ten years of development, self-publishing has been widely recognized and involved in by the libraries in North America. The related theory and practice has important messages for the development of self-publishing service in Chinese libraries. On the basis of case studies and content analysis, this paper reviewed research trends of self-publishing at home and abroad and analyzed the collaborative logic of self-publishing and library development, and six aspects of self-publishing were outlined, including writing training, user communication, copyright supporting, editing & layout guidance, printing on demand and book curation.

    It is a remarkable feature to get information with interpersonal relationship in everyday life information seeking, and it is of importance to explore the new features under the context of virtual interpersonal relationship and to optimize interpersonal information network for college students in everyday life information seeking. The types of interpersonal relationships utilization and the topics in information seeking were identified in students' daily life with the interview data and small-scale survey data, and the main characteristics of interpersonal relationship utilization were revealed by large-scale sample data in college students' everyday life. The results show that the persons were relatively concentrated from whom college students sought their everyday life information, and a small amount core interpersonal relationship can meet large-scale seeking needs; it is gender, family source and family structure that influence college students' choice in interpersonal relationship utilization; there are significant differences for students in different levels to select interpersonal relationship in their everyday life information seeking, with the graduate students preferring to use e-mail and WeChat and undergraduate students preferring to use QQ; there are some preferences for students to select different interpersonal relationships to meet different information needs in their everyday life information seeking: the blood interpersonal relationships in reality are selected to meet the information needs in deep-seated emotion while the interpersonal relationships related to classmates and colleagues in virtual and real-life context are selected to satisfy the information needs in the business expansion and skill improvement, and the interpersonal relationships related to general friends and virtual world are chosen to fulfill the general information needs in daily life.

    Under data-intensive scientific environment, more and more scientific data are kept in scientific data repository. And library holds a vast amount of scientific literature. It has become the hot issue that how to link scientific literature and scientific data. At present, the linked practice of academic journals and scientific data is the most active unit in the field. Taking the linkage of journals and scientific data repository as the research object, the article takes the survey of linkage, analyzes the methods of linkage deeply, and provides a reference for our library to create linkage of scientific literature and scientific data.
  • Progress and Enlightenments of Researcher Unique Identifier's Implementation in Organizations

    From organizations' view, the paper analyzed researcher unique identifier's application progress from three perspectives: implementation status, implementation modes and service mode. The outcome shows that currently researcher unique identifier's implementation has made significant success, however, the following problems still exist: the extent of application needs to be improved, interoperability of different systems is not ideal and the implementation lacks of consistency. In order to solve these problems, the paper gave corresponding suggestions: the promotion of researcher unique identifier's application should be stronger, coordination between different systems should be strengthened and comprehensive method should be adopted to improve interoperability, and systematic mechanism should be made to encourage researchers to update their information.

    Qi Baishi is a world famous Chinese artist, whose paintings are animated and vivid. Qi Baishi created countless paintings, and his painting style was always changing, from the fine description of the brush to the literati and then to the "bad law", each stage reflects the unique understanding of the arts, describing world with his brush. This paper focuses on the formation and development of Qi Baishi 's creation method and the various factors of the formation of painting style. It explores the unique artistic aesthetics of Qi Baishi and provides new ideas for analyzing Qi Baishi' s works from more angles.
