     A special librarys’spirit is different from the special spirit of average libraries. The former refers to the spirit of a library in certain historical period, society, or category. While the latter represents the fundamental ideology of a library , as the abstract of the former. The fundamental spirit of library is reflected as the spirit of special libraries. Through research on the fundamental spirit of a library, the author aims to deepen the understanding on library spirit of different kinds and in certain circumstances, and offer references to study on the core value of libraries.

  • The Construction of Township Library Based on the Status of Cultural Life of Rural Remaining Women

    Township libraries should play an important role in the cultural life of rural remaining women. This paper makes a survey and analyzes the present situation of cultural life of 915 rural remaining women. The result shows that: in general, the rural remaining women stay away from the library, and the status of their cultural life is not optimistic. It can be reflected in four aspects, Narrow knowledge spectrum, Plain cultural life, Lack of leisure -time activities, Low satisfaction of Marriage. To counter the problem, this paper analyzes the reasons for rural remaining women’s staying away from libraries. At the same time, it raises some countermeasures for the township libraries, which provide services for the rural remaining women.

    Up to the year 2010, Evergreen Education Foundation, together with its execution arm, China Evergreen Rural Library Service Center, has provided service in the remote rural area of China for 9 years. Based on its mission, EEF has developed a clear model for library development, project execution and librarian training through its exploration. This paper analyzes and summarizes the experience of EEF on project execution, librarian training, organizational development and collaboration/exchange with other organizations. We hope this retrospection can help EEF to find its way to the future, as well as provide a useful reference for NGOs which actively seek the way to effectively facilitate rural library development in China.

    Tianzhu No. 1 High School Library serves as the center of a regional library network cluster which is set to deliver practical information services to support the cultural and economic development of the rural communities and to leverage all the local information services to narrow the gap between economically developed urban areas and the disconnected, information deprived rural communities. In this presentation, the author reports on training programs designed for delivering agricultural products specific workshops to farmers. Two factors are the focal points of this study: the farmers’level of information literacy and their specific needs for agricultural product information. One of the objectives of the training programs was to help farmers to search and use product information on their own. The interplaying of the two factors continues to be the subject for future study and will guide collaboration among cluster libraries to offer more useful training programs.

     Implications of MARC Tag Usage on Library Metadata Practices is a report issued by OCLC in March 2010. It’s a result of OCLC Research activity Gather Evidence to Inform Changes Needed in MARC Metadata Practices, and offered by RLG Partnership MARC Tag Usage Working Group between 2008 and 2009. The report includes six sections. After an introduction, there are five independent statistic analysis reports about MARC tag usage, machine matching, search and others. The report focuses on MARC practices and includes recommendations for its improvement. The report also gives its views on MARC’s future.

    With the application of digital and network technologies, the library unions begin to put emphasis on united databases development, digital resources delivery and resource share. So the problems of copyright infringement are increasingly standing out. The article considers that the library unions use fairly copyright works, they should receive immunity to infringement responsibility such as works reproduce, network communication, etc.; but if the unions do the behavior out of the way of fair use and have no permission contract with the authors, they should take on corresponding responsibility.

    With the rapid development of digital technology and network, protection of the right of spreading information through network is attracting increasing attention, whose extension makes it difficult for the library’s reasonable application of resources and authorization of rights. It should be kept in balance between the public responsibility of the library and the protection of the right of spreading information through network, by means of legal limitation of the extension of the latter, group management institutions for copyright, maintenance and reasonable extension of the library’s extra rights, and copyright alliance between libraries.

    Choosing some related index of the libraries' informationization, the author makes a research aimed at the present situation of the district libraries' informationization in Gansu province. Making use of the relatively complete statistical data, the author analyzes the overall situation of the district libraries' informationization, and comes to a conclusion that informationizational construction has made some great achievements with the promotion of the cultural sharing project at a faster pace, and that in spite of these, there are still a lot of restraints such as unicity of natural resouces, lack of digital resources, unnormalization of the management softwares as well as the lowness of the librarians' information literacy.

    This paper analyzes the market characteristics of the rural mobile information services . with the combination of TAM, TAM2 and perceived risk theory, this paper proposes consumer adoption model in the rural mobile information services field and the research hypothesis. Further more, we uses the structural equation modeling to verify the hypothesis. Based on the research result, we give the countermeasures and proposals how to cultivate the rural mobile information services.

    The library leadership is very important in library performance management. This paper explores the relationship between the demographic characteristics of library leadership team and library performance. A series of hypothesis were tested on the basis of the data collected from 38 librarys in Zhejiang province. The result shows that average tenure and average educational background of library leadership team are positively related to library performance and there isn’t a distinctive relationship between the heterogeneity of the demographic characteristics of library leadership team and library performance.

    Libraries, archives centers and museums play a vital part in protecting Intangible cultural heritage, they bear the mission of cultural serving of their country and their people. However, problems also exist in protection and dissemination of Intangible cultural heritage, such as across management, duplication, faint protection in previous stage, imperfect work in later stage , lacking of effective sharing mechanism and theoretical support. Establishing an integrated mechanism for the collaboration of these three departments in protecting Intangible cultural heritage will improve its shared degree, spread and inherit it in a wider scale.

    Shanghai library "IC card" provides the NISO circulation service by internet without changing the administrative, personnel and financial relations between Shanghai Library and its branches. Shanghai library IC card has been admired since it can be used. However, the children's lending of district branches has problem on using Shanghai library IC card. Minhang branch has worked hard together with Shanghai library to solve the problem of children's lending, and become the first branch, which can lending Children's books by shanghai library IC card.

    In this paper, Google Scholar for 2002 -2005, the domestic legal category of "core titles" was determined, and then the citation analysis based on the "core titles" as the measurement tool, four major university library collections of legal class quality evaluation and analysis, and find out the reasons is designed to improve the quality of university library collections to provide objective legal basis for class.

    There are many prefaces and epilogues in the books of series corpus of Ssu-ku. However, nobody have all-round collected and studied them because of they are numerous and jumbled. The author made a survey of prefaces and epilogues of Ming dynasty in the books of series corpus of Ssu-ku, and confirmed 1595. Through analysis, it can sure that most of them were made by authors in southern area, especially Jiangxi. Then the author made an overall statistics of these prefaces and epilogues at three geographical aspects such as province、prefecture and county. From the statistics, it can be found that most of them were located in southeast China. This was because of the developed surroundings、literature、system and economy of this place.

    The establishment of Li subject research is faced with the shortage of available research data，for most Li ancient documents have been diffused in various places，scattered among the classics and the collection system is not perfect. As a result，Li subject researchers find it difficult to continue their studies. Therefore，it has become an imminent task to make clear the diffusing track of Li ancient documents and ensure their reproducible regression. This thesis studies and discusses the ways of establishing the smooth domestic return channels and those of international cooperation as well as the method and strategy of facilitating the earlier return of Li ancient documents.
