  • Intelligence Analysis in the Big Data Era in the Context of PRISM

    The PRISM program has drawn extensive attention from all over the world after being exposed, and attention seems to focus on personal privacy and its protection. But in fact, what data are collected, how they are processed and what strategic objectives are to be achieved are more worthy of attention and discussion. This article makes a comprehensive analysis of the prism program from the perspective of intelligence analysis, which includes data resource, analysis process and methods, strategic target, and ends on a discussion about intelligence analysis in the era of big data.

    Big data has caught the attention of five domains: competitive intelligence, business management, bioinformatics, government governance and military intelligence. In order to understand the differences between different domains of intelligence analysis, this article reviews the current status of the conception and practice on intelligence analysis across five domains, reveals the characteristics of intelligence analysis, and then illustrates the development of intelligence analysis across five domains under the big data environment, and points out the effects of big data for intelligence analysis.
  • Preliminary Study on the Big Data Analytics and Its Adaptability in Intelligence Studies

    Big data analytics has brought new opportunities for data-oriented or information-oriented intelligence studies' development. Based on existing research, the author makes a review of three viewpoints of big data analytics based on data, process and information technology, and then summarizes five levels of analytics which including statistics, mining, discovery, predict and integrate, and its 17 kinds of relevant research methods. The adaptability of big data analytics in the intelligence studiesis discussed and it is found that 10 research methods can be directly transplanted to intelligence studies, 2 research methods should be adjusted for transplantation, 2 research methods are inapplicable, and 3 research methods needfurther study.

    On the basis of sufficient literature review, the rationality and availability of automatic term extraction based on association rules are discussed by the theoretical and experimental methods. Theoretically, the basic principle of association rule, under the condition of full solution of the "sequence", can solve the problem of identification and extraction of the term. Practically, association rules method can extract correct terminology, and by comparing with the existing algorithm, association rules algorithm has more obvious advantages in difficulty of realization and occupied resources.

    In recent years, with the change of the scholarly communication environment and research environment, the needs of information analysis services has been increasingly developed by university researchers and administrative department. Exploring the method and mode of the information analysis services has become more and more important. This article introduces the practices of ShangHai JiaoTong University Library's information analysis services, analyzes the implementation strategy of subject librarians' participation in the services and finally puts forward the strategy to improve and optimize the information analysis services.

     This article is based on the reform practice of ubiquitous wisdom classroom which is Shanghai Jiao Tong University's e-reserve service. The service includes e -reserve system, resource construction, mobile reading service, the teaching reform and innovation participated by subject librarian, and the feedback by campus users. These five parts are discussed in details to show the service promoting teaching reform and innovation.

    Reading promotion has been an important part of university library. Taking the design of SJTU Library reading promotion as example, this article expounds the mode, contents, typical characteristics of practice of university library's reading promotion under the idea of the creative new mode service - IC2 programs. The article introduces some cases as making the campus more beautiful, SiYuan forum, moving reading, SiYuan reading online, book exhibitions which aim to improve the readers' reading taste , to guide them to read classics, to explore the methods of satisfying readers' need, etc. Thus, SJTU Library develops its unique reading promotion mode and tries to provide reference for the university library's reading promotion with effective examples.

    This paper explores the focal points and evolution trend of the Government -University -Industry -Research Collaboration in China and abroad by applying the method of bibliometrics analysis. Firstly, data are obtained in the main research areas through high frequency words from foreign literature. Then,the main view of foreign scholars is analyzed. Secondly,domestic literature is studied as comparison. It is found that the study on China's Government -University - Industry -Research Collaboration is in the growing stage. A group of important journals in theoretic research has formed, and the number of literature and the research topics were closely related with the different stage of China's major initiatives and It is proved through the analysis of relevant project supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The characteristics of Government-University-Industry-Research Collaboration in China are analyzed.

    Patent H-index analysis is a method which combines the quantity of patent with the quality of patent. This paper analyzes the patent data about Chinese "985" universities and acquires their H index in Derwent Innovations Index. By conducting the correlation analysis and cluster analysis, this paper evaluates the quality and influence of patents about different "985" universities, as well as their research and development ability.

    Based on mass data and sophisticated technique, big data prediction can effectively guide business decision 一 making, optimize resource allocation, reduce administrative costs, and enhance education and scientific research levels. We focus on issues of violating ethical standards, such as results prediction infringing freedom, privacy disclosure infringing dignity, information monopoly infringing fairness, and stereotypes infringing justice, etc. The article proposes specific initiatives of constructing the system of ethical principles, such as respect, rubber, harmlessness, and sustainable development, which will express each free will, balance conflict of interest, inherit kind ethical opinions, realize the virtuous cycle of big data ecosystem, and promote harmonious development of human survival value and natural age一long development.

    Metadata is a prerequisite tool for library to participate in data curation services. In the base services of data curation, librarians select and recommend metadata standards and elements for researchers. Librarians design a complete set of plan of metadata for self-built data repository which aimed at serving data curation. Besides, metadata was applied with different depth to public data repositories, data curation system software, and cooperative projects. In addition, the library also attached great importance to metadata skills training of data librarians.

    The construction of modern public cultural service system is the requirement of the times. The values of modernity, integration and holistic governance are emphasized. Through an analysis of the construction of a modern public library service system at the basic level, you can see the public cultural service system is fragmented because of the conflicts between cultural station system and public library system, and its root lies in the county and township cultural governance. The construction of integral public library service system at the basic level needs organizational change.

  • Research on the Correlation among Evaluation Indicators for Humanities & Social Sciences Journals—rison between Digest-reprinting Indicators and Citation-metric Indicators

    With Pearson correlation coefficientas instrument, correlations between different journal -evaluation indicators and its influences on evaluation machinisms and outcomes are explored. It is found that: correlations between indicators are all positive, but the degree of correlation is not the same. The correlations between the five indicators, ie the Average Score Per Article, the Cited Half-life, the Ratio of Other-cited,the Mutual Cited Index, and the Ratio of Funded Papers, and the other indicators is significantly weaker than that between any other two indicators; strong positive correlations exist among similar statistic indicators of three types, which are impact -factor indicators, digest -reprinting indicators, and WEB downloading indicators; medium or strong positive correlations exist between digest -reprinting indicators and citation - metric indicators.

    Data is the footstone of science research. The evaluation of scientific data can promote the management of scientific data, then facilitate the sharing and reuse of data. Based on the method of citation analysis, the authors propose a scientific data evaluation system which includes indices such as data publication, data citation, citation per data and index. An experiment is implemented with the data of population survey in DCI. The result shows this system is useful for the evaluation of institutions which published and stored scientific data. The result also shows DCI can provide strong support to the quantitative evaluation of scientific data.

    The importance and necessity of data citation is briefly summarized and the research progress in data citation standards from what to cite,how to cite (the key,complete and optional metadata combination),where to cite,key issues (granularity,version control and identifier) and its solutions are discussed . It is found that the research in data citation standards is in the initial stage and the development of data citation practice calls for the joint efforts of all stakeholders.

    Social media is online media with users involved greatly. Social media resources refers to all forms of social media tools, sites, and information content that generated mostly by users. Drawing on domestic and international theory and practice and with the characteristics of social media resources in mind, the author discussed the necessity of social media resources conservation, choices of resource, saving subjects, preservation methods and issues in the preservation process, etc. It is proposed that user-generated content should be preserved after processing, Internet companies involve in the preservation, cloud storage technology should be used, relevant agencies should have extensive cooperation,and legal and cost issues should be properly resolved.

    Researchers are the main body of academic communication. In order to meet the value demand of researchers on scientific journal publishing, Open Access Journal (OAJ) must realize the functions of academic communication system. In this article, firstly, based on reviewing academic communication theory, the functions of journal in academic communication were summarized. Then, factors affecting researchers' acceptance of OAJ publishing were analyzed from the aspects of academic registration, certification, awareness, archiving, rewarding, and connection. At last, some proposals were put forward.
  • Research on the Willingness of Researchers to Share Scientific Data

    As the makers, users and managers of scientific data, the attitude of researchers directly affect the process and development of data sharing. In order to study the influencing factors of researchers' willingness to share scientific data, the authors propose a scientific data sharing intention model based on the theory of Planned Behavior and Technology Accept Model. The authors capture the data needed in the model by a online survey of 328 scientists, then use the SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 17.0 software to process the original data, explore current data sharing practices and perceptions of the barriers and enablers of data sharing. Lastly,some suggestions for developing the willingness of data sharing in the future according to the results of the research are put forward.
  • Focused Crawler Based Network Competitive Intelligence Acquisition

     This paper designs and implements the network competitive intelligence acquisition system based on focused crawler. The Webpage's topic is predicted by an improved Nave Bayes algorithm, which can improve the accuracy rate. The URL's topic is predicted by the rule and anchor text similarity combined algorithm, which can avoid the problems of URL anchor text short and noise. Compared with the breadth-first acquisition techniques, experimental results show that the method has obvious advantages.

    user oriented volunteer service is the chief component of the public library services in recent years. And also is a hotspot in academic world. The article firstly analyzes the academic research and exploratory practice of volunteer's services in public library. Then it considers that the volunteer's services in public library should incline to primary level users, extend the service space and promote the service level. Finally, it proposes several extending ways about volunteer's service in public library, which including primary level users' service, network service, living library and wisdom services etc.
