Exploring the value of public library as "place" from the perspective of the public demand can provide new ideas for the development of Librarianship. This paper conducts textual mining of the online reviews of 970 public libraries on Dianping.com, and comprehensively used Python and other techniques for high-frequency word analysis, service theme analysis and sentiment analysis, to explore the public perception of the value of public library as "place". The results reveal that public libraries are generally favored by the public, the value of public library as a place for traditional reading, participating in culture activities and lifelong learning is the most prominent, there is a significant regional gap in the value, and the value of public library as children's services and cultural tourism integration development place is becoming more prominent.
