In conjunction with a think tank, the authors conducted a thorough investigation of such practice engaged in Pew Research Center to study characteristics of reference value in the practice of academic library. The findings indicate that the Pew Fact Tank has developed a matured information management service system that contains not only ample data resources, feasible information acquisition channels, all-inclusive data experimental laboratory, and also various information sharing models. Pew's experience can be a learning module that helps academic libraries improve the mode of information absorption, enhance the quality of data analysis; carry out extensive information resources sharing, and promote the influence of think tank services.
