On the Indigenization of Library Science Education in New China

Abstract

The practice of library science education indigenization in China has made many achievements in the past 70 years. This paper summarized the indigenization process and current situation of library science education system, education mode, curriculum and teaching content in the past 70 years by historical research and literature research methods. It points out that indigenization is the main idea that Chinese library science education must adhere to. It is necessary to strengthen the indigenization theory and handle the relationship between the localization and internationalization correctly.
