On September 24, 2018, the British Library released its first scientific research report, British Library Research 2016-17. The report describes its main research activities during the period from October 2016 to September 2017. By deeply interpreting the report, this paper probes into the paradigms, methods and ways of carrying out scientific research service in British libraries in order to provide reference for the innovation and development of public library services in China.
