Adoption Intention towards News Apps among College Students:An Investigation from TAM and IDT Perspective

Abstract

Drawing upon TAM(Technology Acceptance Model)and IDT(Innovation Diffusion Theory), the present study explored the college students' adoption intention towards news apps. A conventional paper-and-pencil questionnaire and hierarchical logistic regression were employed to investigate the hypothesized relationships. Results indicated that perceived content usefulness, perceived popularity and perceived compatibility positively influenced users' adoption intention of news apps, while perceived socialization usefulness had a significant yet negative effect on their intention. The study also found that perceived ease of use could not predict their intention in a significant way.
