Abstract

Data literacy is the development of information literacy in the era of big data. It is necessary to integrate data literacy education into LIS education. This paper analyzes the status of data literacy education of LIS education in China and America from two aspects: training awareness and training intensity by investigating the training targets, research directions and curriculum of LIS education, then aiming at the problems of data literacy education in domestic LIS education, this paper puts forward three suggestions referring to the status of America in order to provide some suggestions for LIS education in China: to raise awareness of data literacy education and clear the need and location of data literacy education in LIS education,to build a multidimensional LIS data literacy education system, and to cooperate with relevant industry and subjects.
