Abstract

Wood engraving is a wonderful work in ancient Chinese art and this art form reached its peak in Ming Dynasty with Hu Zhengyan as the representative person by his two books of painting set and his creation of engraving techniques. Hu Zhengyan is recognized as the beginner of color overprint in world history of engraving and the beginner of color print in printing history.
