Abstract
Computational humanities has experienced more than half a century of development, and it is urgent to gradually clarify and form norms in terms of nouns, definitions, and references, and to highlight the value and importance of computing in this interdisciplinary at the current stage of development. This article discussed several related expressions including digital humanities and computational humanities, and clarified the advantages of computational humanities as an expression. Focusing on the objects, issues and methods, with clarification on the subject connotation, this study analyzes the opportunities of computational humanities in national strategy, subject renaming of IRM, and new liberal arts construction. Taking computational linguistics, computational history, computational philology, and computational literature as examples, this article explained and formed a system of computational humanities as a discipline which is composed of many sub-disciplines in the form of "computational X", and each "X" can correspond to a specific disciplines in humanities.
