图书馆学学人研究是图书馆史研究的核心组成部分，其研究分为个体研究与群体研究两类，个体研究可以遵循编纂年谱、构建时空坐标，整理编纂学人文集、奠定学人思想研究基础，回到历史场景、给予客观评价的研究路径；群体研究可以从编辑中国图书馆学人群体传记工具书，明确图书馆学人群体划分标准、深入群体内部展开研究，向外突破、通过比较找寻群体特质等方面着手。

Chinese library scholars study is the core content of library history study, at present, there is still a lack of theoretic discussions on the library scholars study. Therefore, this article discussed the path and the methods of Chinese library scholar study. In this article, the author divided the Chinese library scholar study into two categories:individual-oriented research and group-oriented research. When doing individual-oriented research, the researcher could follows:firstly compiling the chronological biography of library scholar; secondly compiling the library scholar’s all kinds of works; thirdly, go back to the historical scene and give an objective evaluation. Whilst doing group-oriented research, the researchers could compile different kinds of library biography dictionaries, clarify the criterion which used to classify different groups, and then compare the groups form the vertical and horizontal dimension.
