：对作者机构指数指标这一定量指标用于期刊评价的科学依据、实施原理、演变、应用，以及该指标用于期刊评价的有效性和前景分析表明：作者机构指数具有客观、高效、计算过程透明以及跨学科性等优点，但不能作为一个独立的期刊评价方法，而应作为专家评价和引文分析的一个辅助性指标；作者机构指数在许多学科期刊评价中的有效性已得到证实，但在图书情报等学科中尚待进一步检验。

A deep discussion is provided on the validity and prospect of the AAI for journal evaluation. This paper analyses the scientific basis, implementation issues, development and application of this quantitative indicator. It is found that AAI has advantages such as objectivity, efficiency, transparent calculation process and interdisciplinary characteristics. AAI cannot be used as an independent journal evaluation approach. It should be used as a supplement of other journal evaluation methods like expert evaluation and citation analysis. The validity of AAI in journal ranking has been tested in many subjects but need a further examination in LIS discipline.
