With the rapid development of information technology and the sweeping progress of ageing society, high requirements have been raised to improve the policy of lifelong learning in both academic and practical way. Due to the diversity of age, cognitive patterns, living habits and knowledge background, the gap between the young and the old in digital perception, digital competence, and information literacy is becoming increasingly apparent. Therefore, the academia, industry and government should attach much more importance on how to reduce the "digital divide" between generations and promote intergenerational solidarity in families, communities and the whole society. Recently, some overseas studies on intergenerational learning have made efforts on alleviating intergenerational contradictions and conflicts, strengthening intergenerational communication and solidarity, bringing psychological satisfaction for the elders and enhancing their digital literacy and skills, which may in the long run facilitate the elder's social inclusion and involvement. The paper elucidates the conceptualization of intergenerational learning by literature reviewing firstly. Second, a series of related theoretical foundation of the intergenerational learning were presented. Based on the review of the cases about intergenerational learning and practice, the paper explores the new model of intergenerational learning driven by ICT.
